After finishing the floral background, this piece stalled for two months, if not longer. I could not decide where I wanted to go. When I finally figured it out, I dove back in, and it really felt good to be deep in process. Lately, I have really enjoyed working with colored pencils. Unfortunately, I tore the surface of the paper while pulling up some painters tape. I tried to roll with it, but the relationship with the painting was over. Sometimes I am able to incorporate similar issues into a painting, but in this case, it didn’t work. I couldn’t get past tearing the paper, and I wasn’t satisfied after pushing it further. However, I decided to post a capture. I will be returning to this image, me thinks. This piece is 30x22.
